In the Eye.

The more ambiguous the stimulus, the more conducive it is to projection. The most ambiguous stimuli of all are the known unknowns; richest of all are the minds and hearts of other people. We think we are in company, but we are just in the eye of our customized cyclone of reflections. In them we see heroes and villains of our past; in them we catch broken glimpses of the face we keep concealed behind our masque.
