Walk Between.

Rain falling on me.
Let the violent
drops roll off
till I learn
to walk between.

Soaked to the marrow
again:
so sensitive.

Clouds of dark gray
obscuring my view
of the blue, happy
to have my memories,
brief moments
in the sun, that swift
season of warmth.

Let the lightning rage,
the thunder reverberate,
let the wind whip me ’round.

I will keep my mind still,
won’t accept this
terror, adrenaline, self-loathing,
worthless fucking sadness.
