Myth of the Self-Made.

Please excuse my
small and petty life,
my ignorance
with respect to how one
survives this world
we’ve made.

It just escapes me.

Another day
of shame and frustration
kept at arm’s reach.

Objectify it all,
peel away to the core.
Nurture the buffer.
Internal violence helps nothing,
serves no one.

Still:
so pathetic, I find
myself more
than mildly amusing.

You child.
So infantile. Looking down upon yourself
as just another petty creature
unfit for survival, given a window
through civilization — its just measuring
yourself against the myth
of the self-made.

Honor your guides.
Let go of the shame.
Each in our own way:
we’re all children.
