Ride It Out.

Just believe the lie.
You’ll save
yourself some time.

All that struggling
just to submit to the coma
calling in the end: how can
you place value in that?

It’s just a waste.

You?
Just their puppet,
just their pet.
They pull your strings,
get you to roll over
on command.

All as little monsters
grow within, raging
homunculi gestating,
waiting for the boiling,
clawing at the womb,

cries of old skin
ripping, earning the wheel
in the end.

What’s the use in waiting?
Ride it out with meaning,
an authentic smile.

Just go an extra mile.
The rest, brother,
will be a breeze…

You will see.

I promise.
I promise.
