Euthanasia ex Deus.

They say
that truth shall
set you free,

that foreknowledge
is forearming,

yet in the same
breath complain:
don’t take the magic
out of their lives,
their big death lullabies.

Let them believe
what they desire:
it gives
them comfort.

Open eyes
are not for everyone.
Do not dare
impose on their right
to ignorance.

Honor their path
as you demand
they honor
your own.

Maladaptive, yes,
asking for extinction,
admittedly,

though it is no sharp,
harsh, violent and cold slaying,
rather it serves
as compassionate,
soft suicide,

they ride the smiley
numbness
of euthanasia.
